Service update: temporary closure of Midlothian Sexual Abuse Service
Today (Friday 1 March), we have had to take the very difficult decision to close our Midlothian Sexual Abuse Service (MSAS) waiting list to new referrals. We are having to do this due to capacity.
If you are already on a waiting list for MSAS, you will remain on the list. If you have any concerns or questions about your referral, please email support@ercc.scot.
Please note our advocacy service and East Lothian Sexual Abuse Service (ELSAS) are still temporarily closed to new referrals. If you’ve any concerns or questions about your advocacy or ELSAS referral, please email support@ercc.scot.
If you have experienced a rape or sexual assault within the last 14 days, please let us know as all our services are open to survivors of recent incidents.
Some of our other services are still open to new referrals:
– STAR service for young people aged 12 – 18
– SIA project for black and minority ethnic survivors
– Recent rape or sexual assault within the last 14 days
We appreciate that waiting for our referral list to reopen can be difficult. Please see here for alternative sources of support. You can also contact the Rape Crisis Scotland national helpline on 08088 01 03 02 (open every day from 5pm until midnight) for support.
All our specialist support services are free and any contribution you can make helps us to keep supporting survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse. You can donate via JustGiving or if you’re interested in supporting our work through fundraising you can email us at info@ercc.scot.
