Service update: Temporary Closure of East Lothian Sexual Abuse Service
Today (Wednesday 20 December), we have had to take the very difficult decision to close our East Lothian Sexual Abuse Service (ELSAS) waiting list to new referrals. We are having to do this because of insecurity of funding for this service.
We need sustained funding to meet the huge demand for all our services and we are doing everything we can to seek additional funding, and work to reduce our waiting lists and waiting times.
If you are already on a waiting list for ELSAS, you will remain on the list. If you have any concerns or questions about your referral, please email elsas@ercc.scot.
Please note our advocacy service is still temporarily closed to new referrals. If you’ve any concerns or questions about your advocacy referral, please email advocacy@ercc.scot
If you have experienced a rape or sexual assault within the last 14 days, please let us know as our ELSAS and advocacy service are both still open to survivors of recent incidents.
All our other services remain open to new referrals:
– STAR service for young people aged 12 – 18 (still open to survivors in East Lothian aged 12 -18)
– Student Survivors project (still open to student survivors in East Lothian)
– Outreach support in Midlothian
– SIA project for black and minority ethnic survivors (still open to BME survivors in East Lothian)
– Recent rape or sexual assault within the last 14 days (still open to all survivors in East Lothian aged 12 and over)
