Christmas Appeal 2020 – fundraising ideas

We launched our 2020 Christmas Appeal at the start of the 16 Days of Activism – the international campaign to end gender-based violence.
It has been such a tough year and our specialist trauma-informed support is both life-saving and provides hope to survivors of sexual violence. For our appeal this year, we are asking our supporters to rise to the challenge and donate or raise £20 to support our rape crisis services across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
We want you to get involved and we’ve some fundraising ideas below!
Taking part in #20for2020 is easy, and there are lots of ways to be a part of it!
Here’s a few ideas:
>> While we are spending more time at home, working and living under restrictions set yourself a fitness or creative challenge at home and ask your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you.
- Steps for survivors – 2,020 of your daily steps to survivors;
- On Yer Bike – cycle 20km or 20 miles;
- Twenty’s Plenty – donate all your 20p coins;
- 20 press ups for 20 days;
- 20 hour gaming marathon;
- Or donate your commute!
>> Create a fundraising page in support of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre using Facebook or JustGiving. Tag us on our social media and we will share your fundraising challenge!
>> Send an email round your colleagues and organise a collection.
>> Share our Christmas Appeal on social media and ask folk to get involved!
This is your chance to make a difference – are you up for it?
