Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre was established in 1978 and over the last 39 years we have provided emotional and practical support, information and advocacy to thousands of survivors of sexual violence.
We are a specialist agency providing support to survivors in Edinburgh and the Lothians – we have an outreach support service in East Lothian and Midlothian. Our centre is staffed entirely by female workers who are trained to a high standard and share the view that violence against women and children is an abuse of power and should not happen.
In 2012 we received the Investment in Volunteers Award and in 2014 we celebrated our 35th anniversary at a special reception at the Scottish Parliament.
We will listen, believe and support young people aged 12 -18 and women of any age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation (lesbian and bisexual women), disability, gender identity, religious and cultural background.
